Bart's Bash - the largest sailing race in the world

Bart's Bash will soon be here!  Sunday 21 September 2014 will see this inaugural sailing race take place, run by sailing clubs all around the world on behalf of the charity, the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation (the charity established in memory of the double Olympic medallist, Andrew Simpson).

The charity hopes to set a Guinness World Record for the most people participating in a sailing event in the same 24 hour period.  Chairman of the Trustees, Richard Butcher, is delighted to report that this has become a worldwide event and, to date, over 640 sailing clubs have signed up to participate.  Payne Hicks Beach is proud to sponsor this worthwhile event that will raise money for charity, inspire the next generation and to remember Andrew "Bart" Simpson, Gold & Silver Olympic medallist and America's Cup sailor.

There's still time to be involved. So, if you wish to read more or want to sign up for the "largest sailing race in the world" then click here. Let's set that Guinness World Record and fundraise in memory of "Bart"!
