Thank you from the Atlantic Lions
"We have now been back on dry land for a couple of weeks and are starting to re-adjust to normal life! As I’m sure you are by now aware, we safely crossed the finish line of the 2015 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge arriving in English Harbour, Antigua on 9th February. We completed our Atlantic row in 51 days, 16 hours, 6 minutes and 51 seconds, arriving 6th in our class out of 16 boats and 11th in the race overall. In parts, this was a bigger physical and mental challenge than any of us had ever imagined, but through the strength of the team and the people supporting us we battled through the hardest of times to reach our goal. We simply would not have had this opportunity without the financial backing a support of our sponsors, so we are all extremely grateful for your help in getting to the start line in the first place.
In addition to that we have managed to raise £78,472.15 for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust to date. This is an incredible achievement so far, and we hope to reach our target of £100,000 in due course. We have been touched by some of the messages of gratitude from suffers of MS themselves, and we really can’t thank enough everybody who has contributed to this amount.
I hope you enjoyed reading our blogs and keeping up to date with the tracker. If you have missed any blogs they can all be found at www.atlanticlions.com
On behalf of the Atlantic Lions I would like to say thank you and I have included a picture of the team as we crossed the finish line in Antigua - a feeling we will never forget!
Many thanks to Andrew Tugwell and all at PHB,
Matt and the Atlantic Lions"
