Payne Hicks Beach bolsters Teams with internal promotions

Leading Central London law firm Payne Hicks Beach is thrilled to announce five key promotions across its Private Client, Employment and Family teams. Frederick Bjørn has been promoted from Associate to Partner in the Private Client department. Ben Parry-Smith, Basil Dixon, Charlotte Skea-Strachan and Chris Weaver have all been made Associates. These promotions are effective from 1 June.

Frederick Bjørn joined Payne Hicks Beach in 2010 from Slaughter and May. His practice is focussed on a broad range of personal tax and trust matters, both domestic and international, with a wealth of experience advising on tax issues relating to non-domiciliaries and cross border migration. A leading member of the firm's Scandinavian team, Frederick was last year recognised as one of the UK's top Private Client advisors under the age of 35 by Private Client Practitioner; a huge accolade.

Additionally, Basil Dixon has been made an Associate within the Private Client team. He has particular expertise advising high net worth individuals and trustees on far-reaching tax, trust, estate planning and succession issues and philanthropic affairs.

Ben Parry-Smith and Charlotte Skea-Strachan have been promoted to Associates within the firm's highly regarded Family department. Ben joined Payne Hicks Beach on qualification in 2008 and is instructed on a breadth of family matters. His practice includes advising on complex financial disputes and jurisdictional issues. Charlotte joined the firm in 2006. She represents clients on the break-down of marriage or co-habitation and private client children cases.

In the Employment team, Chris Weaver has been made an Associate. Chris has been at the firm since 2009 after having worked at White & Case and Olswang. He has extensive experience in advisory work and litigation for employers and employees.

Peter Black, Managing Partner, commented:

"Frederick's promotion to Partner recognises his outstanding contribution to the firm and reflects the calibre of our internationally renowned Private Client offering. Ben, Charlotte, Chris and Basil are real talents and have demonstrated impressive expertise in their fields. These promotions are representative of the continued commitment of the firm to our clients and our people as we experience increasing client demand in all practice areas and look to meet that demand through internal promotions as well as lateral hires."
